Your first visit

What happens, what to bring, and how billing works, so nothing is a surprise.

The short answer

Your first visit at Apex includes a detailed conversation about your symptoms and goals, a hands-on physical assessment and, where appropriate, your first treatment. Bring your insurance details and any imaging reports, and wear comfortable clothing. No referral is needed, and we direct bill many extended health plans.

From booking to back in action

Book online or call

Pick any practitioner through online booking, or call the front desk and we will help you choose.

Tell us about you

A short health history form means your appointment time goes to you, not paperwork.

Your assessment

We discuss your history and assess the concern within the practitioner’s scope, then explain findings and appropriate next steps.

Treatment begins

Where appropriate, treatment starts the same day, and we explain every technique before we use it.

You leave with a plan

Home exercises, what to expect over the coming weeks, and when we would like to see you next.

What to bring

Your extended health insurance details, a list of medications, and any X-ray, MRI or specialist reports.

What to wear

Loose, comfortable clothing. Shorts for knee, hip or ankle problems; a tank top for shoulders and neck.

Billing

We direct bill many plans. If yours is not one of them, you get a receipt to submit yourself.

Before you come in

Billing, what to bring, and who to book with.

Do you offer direct billing?

Direct billing is available for eligible plans. The clinic can help with billing details, but your insurer determines coverage and reimbursement. Check exclusions, limits and any referral requirements before treatment.

Is chiropractic, physio and massage covered by insurance?

Most extended health plans include some coverage for these services. Amounts and rules vary by plan, so check your benefits booklet.

What happens at my first visit?

A first visit usually includes a history and assessment appropriate to the practitioner’s scope. Findings, options and next steps should be explained, including whether treatment or referral is appropriate. Treatment is provided only with your consent.

What should I bring and wear?

Bring your insurance information, any relevant imaging or medical reports, and wear comfortable clothes that let us see and move the area being treated.

Which practitioner should I book with?

If you are unsure, book an initial assessment with a chiropractor or physiotherapist. Our team works together and will involve massage therapy, kinesiology or acupuncture when it helps.
